


Paavai College of Nursing and Research organized a webinar on “Legal Provisions in Midwifery Practices in India” on 21 August 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Thirumandram hall through an online live webinar platform. The programme was organized to enhance awareness among nursing students and faculty regarding the legal and ethical aspects of midwifery practice.
The session was delivered by Prof. Mrs. Meneka Devi, Professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing, KBT College of Nursing, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, who served as the resource speaker. The webinar focused on key aspects including legal responsibilities of midwives, professional accountability, ethical practice, patient rights, safe maternity care, and evidence-based practice. 54 students from VI semester B.Sc nursing and 15 Nursing Faculties participated in this webinar.
The programme was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Dr. A. Hepsi Rachel Charles, Principal, Paavai College of Nursing & Research, with Dr. Saridha Prema, Department In-charge, Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing, coordinating the programme. The programme concluded with a note of thanks to the resource person and all the participants for their active involvement and contribution to the successful conduct of the webinar.
