Paavai College of Nursing and Research, Namakkal, observed World Heart Day on 29th September 2026 at the V.T. Puram Rural Primary Health Centre (PHC). The programme was organized by the Principal of Paavai College of Nursing and Research in association with the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing and was coordinated by Prof. C. Kalaiyarasan.
A total of 56 second-year B.Sc. Nursing students participated in the programme. The students conducted health education sessions to create awareness about cardiovascular diseases and the importance of adopting heart-healthy lifestyle practices. They also screened individuals for risk factors associated with heart diseases by measuring blood pressure and calculating Body Mass Index (BMI).
The programme was organized in accordance with the World Heart Day 2026 theme, “Don’t Miss a Beat,” emphasizing the importance of heart health awareness, early identification of risk factors, and the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
