In commemoration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed on 30th June 2026, students of Paavai College of Nursing and Research, Namakkal, participated in an awareness rally organized by the Government Medical College and Hospital, Namakkal.
The rally was flagged off by the Dean, Dr. K. Murugalakshmi, M.D., D.G.O., at the Government Medical College and Hospital, Namakkal. The theme of the event was “The World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges and Innovative Responses.”
A total of 120 students from the V and VI semesters, accompanied by the programme coordinators, actively participated in the rally. The students prepared and carried awareness placards highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the consequences of illicit drug trafficking.
The rally aimed to create awareness among the public about the dangers of drug abuse, promote a healthy and drug-free society, and encourage young people to stay away from substance abuse. The active participation of the students contributed significantly to spreading awareness about the prevention of drug abuse and illicit trafficking and promoting a healthier community.
