Paavai College of Nursing and Research, Namakkal, in collaboration with Government Hospital, Rasipuram, organized a Breastfeeding Week Awareness Programme on 6th August 2026 as part of World Breastfeeding Week. The programme aimed to create awareness among breastfeeding mothers about the importance of breast milk and appropriate breastfeeding practices.
Nursing students actively participated in the awareness rally, poster presentation, and health talk organized in collaboration with Government Hospital, Rasipuram. The students shared important messages on the benefits of breastfeeding and appropriate breastfeeding practices with mothers and the general public.
The programme helped disseminate key breastfeeding messages and create greater community awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for maternal and child health. Around 40 mothers benefited from the programme.
Overall, the programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of nursing students, faculty members, healthcare professionals, mothers, and the public.
