Paavai College of Nursing and Research, Namakkal, in collaboration with Government Hospital, Rasipuram, organized a School Health Programme at Pudhu Palayam Government High School, Rasipuram, Namakkal, on 2nd September 2026.

The programme aimed to promote the health and well-being of school children through comprehensive health screening and health education. Nursing students, under the guidance of faculty members, conducted various health assessments, including general health assessment, measurement of height and weight, BMI assessment, nutritional assessment, vision screening, oral health screening, and identification of common health problems.

Health education sessions were conducted on important topics such as personal hygiene, proper handwashing, balanced diet, prevention of anaemia, oral hygiene, physical activity, menstrual hygiene, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

The students actively participated in the programme and received individual health guidance and counselling wherever required. Around 160 school students benefited from the programme.

Overall, the School Health Programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of school students, teachers, nursing students, and faculty members. The programme helped create awareness among school children about healthy practices and the importance of maintaining good physical and personal health.
